Christmas Rush and Recap

It has been an interesting few weeks/months.  My button Cuff links got featured on HGTV.com and that truly was a thrill for me.  I finally felt validated and on the etsy site I had repeat customers.  I also tried out more scrabble pendants and, moved into jenga tiles as well. I have been neglecting jubilantwares.com and after all the holiday rush I am definitely going to work on it more.

The last few days have been hectic in my rush to get things done and mailed on time for Christmas, I ruined about 3 batches of resin filled bottle caps!!!!That put my time lines behind and the long sleepless nights to catch up has not helped my weary body!!! I am down with a cold and not feeling the Christmas spirit just yet.  Lets hope it comes by real soon!!!

I am hoping to work with clay and try out new custom photo accessories as well as get into other mediums as well.  I should post on the facebook fan page and see if there is anything my fans would like to see me try out in the new year.

First Day of Pre-school

Yikes my little baby is starting his first day at pre-school.  Even though I have been very matter of fact about it all this time I am feeling a bit weepy now!!!!  my husband Curt has been talking about how he will go pick him up at lunch time etc as he is very anxious.  I was telling him we need to play it by ear and not be the "helicopter parents" (hovering at the classroom).  Lets see how tomorrow goes!!!  My think I will be keeping my little scrabble tiles of my babies close to my heart at work tomorrow!!!

Card obsession goes on

These it seems like every time I make  a pendant of some sort I think of a Mini Appreciation Card (MACs) I can make to go along with it.  It's so much fun coming up with graphics or embellishing them with various paper and ribbon.  I hope people like this.  I like it and be warned all my friends and family you are getting these during the holiday season....Maybe with a magnet or something with a picture of the kiddos.

Cool New Photographer: Agape Photography

Recently I discovered that one of my my co-workers, Nalee Thao,  who's another school psychologist, has a hobby and hidden talent for taking fantastic photo's.  She has been doing this for friends and family and said that she would do a photo shoot with my 2 kiddos!!!  I was thrilled as I hadn't done any "professional pictures of the kids since my second child, Jehan, (almost 4) was born.  The photo's came out fantastic.  I love them...and  I decided to make a bottle cap bracelet of them.  The scrabble tile pendant I posted the other day are also has pictures of them that she took.  She is great with the kids and takes some great shots.  She has a facebook page where you can go inquire about a session.  Her website Agape Photography will be up soon.  Will keep you posted.

Wow, summer is almost over!!!

Soccer lovers card
I hope everyone has been busy this summer.  I have been busy with the kiddos plus trying to get organized with jubilantwares items.   I got into scrabble tiles and making mini cards.  I decided to call them Mini appreciation cards (MACs).  All the little cards will have a scrabble tile or bottle cap pendant enclosed so that way when a person buys it as a gift them don't have to pay extra for a card.  tell me what you think of this idea.

Donate for Haiti Relief

I think like many of you I have been watching the devastating pictures and stories coming out of Haiti since the earthquake. Every time I see the face of a child I see my two children's faces. I wanted to do something to donate whatever I could. Monetarily I could not do much, but discovered that Paypal was connected to Save the Children Fund. So I was able to donate and decided that 20% of whatever sales I make on etsy will go to the Save the Children Fund.

I also created a bottlecap dedicated to Haiti relief as a statement/ encouragement for others to donate. I had never made magnets out of the bottlecaps before and decided to try that as well as a paperclip bookmark. I donated one each of these to the etsy store Hearts for Haiti ( http://www.etsy.com/shop/HeartsforHaiti?ga_search_query=hearts&ga_search_type=seller_usernames ) where 100% of the sales go to Doctors without Borders and the sellers are donating all the fees as well as shipping.

My husband who has been to Haiti as a child was telling me how even $1 would go such a long way in this devastated country so I would encourage you all to donate that dollar you are going to use on a candy bar, coffee, mocha or a cigarette to one of the reputable charities.
